Reverse Face Balanced® (RFB) Putter — The World's First Face-Down Putter
ever built.
500% more forgiving. Independently proven by robotic testing.
Build Your Putter — from $799Independent Robotic Testing: 500% More Forgiving Than Conventional Putters
An expert with 30 years of putter design experience tested it against the world's best putters.
Blair Philip has designed over 200 putters. He's worked at PING, YES! Golf, and Adams Golf. He co-founded BGT Stability Shafts. He was the first professional in the US to use the Quintic Ball Roll Analysis system.
He tested the Incred RFB putter against 11 of the best-selling putters on the market — TaylorMade, Odyssey, Scotty Cameron, Ping, LAB Golf — using a gravity-driven robot at 8 mph. Zero human error. Zero bias.
"Incred putters perform better in controlled robot testing than many of the best performing putters on the market in terms of consistent ball speed, ball roll and general forgiveness on center and mis-hits."
How Reverse Face Balanced® Technology Works
Every other putter balances face-up. This one doesn't.
There are three kinds of putters: face-balanced, toe-hang, and zero torque. They all share one thing — the centre of gravity sits behind or along the shaft.
The Incred RFB putter positions the CG in front of the shaft. The face balances downward. It's a fourth category that has never existed before in golf.
The result: the face squares itself through impact. Like a hammer driving a nail — the weight does the work, not your hands.
Automatic Face Squaring
The forward CG pulls the face square at impact. 0.1° twist vs 0.3–0.9°+ on conventional putters.
Immediate Forward Roll
50–66 RPM topspin from impact. No skid. No backspin. The ball rolls true from the moment it leaves the face.
Wide Sweet Spot
99% ball speed retained on half-inch mishits. Heel, toe, centre — the roll feels the same.
The Fourth Axis of Putter Balance
For decades, every putter balanced one of three ways. Reverse Face Balanced® is the fourth.
Balance type describes how the head behaves relative to the shaft. It is the single biggest factor in how a putter resists twisting when you miss the centre of the face.
Incred RFB vs LAB Golf: Head-to-Head Data
Same robot. Same stroke. Same conditions. Here's what the data shows.
| Metric | Incred RFB Black Mallet | LAB Golf (OZI / Mezz / DF3) |
|---|---|---|
| Roll quality on centre strikes | 77% better | Baseline |
| Skid | 14% lower | Baseline |
| Face twist on heel mishit | Minimal (0.13°) | "Alarming" twist* |
| Ball speed on heel mishit | 99%+ retained | Significant decrease* |
| Independent verdict | "Best performer" — Blair Philip | "Significant performance disadvantage"* |
* Blair Philip attestation: "Incred putters have a significant performance advantage over the LAB Golf putter models tested. LAB putters show an alarming amount of face twist and decrease in ball speed when mis-hit towards the heel."

What Teaching Pros and Tour Players Say About the RFB Putter
From teaching pros to tour players. The verdict is the same.
I've been playing golf at a high level for 40 years. This is the first putter that rolls the ball end over end on its own.
I did not have to 'make' a stroke. The putter did the work.
After you take about five putts with it, you're like — I don't want to putt with anything else.
Made 80% of all putts in his first hour. 5 consecutive from 25 feet.
The putter feels fantastic off the face. The putter swings itself. I love the technology.
Puts a very consistent roll on the ball. Super confident when it's in my hands. Like I can't miss.
Yes — even the people who build competing putters are impressed.
I've put the Incred Black Mallet in play in tournaments and gotten back to back top 10s on the PGTI. The putter has a great balance and is highly customizable.
The Eureka Black Mallet by Incred Golf was super easy to align and the swing feel is consistent.
Highly recommended for golfers who want a tech-forward putter, personalised service, and real improvement on the greens.

Everything You Need to Know About the RFB Putter
What is a Reverse Face Balanced® putter?
A Reverse Face Balanced® (RFB) putter is the fourth balance category in golf, invented by Incred Golf. Unlike face-balanced (face-up), toe-hang (toe-down), or zero-torque (toe-up) putters, the RFB putter balances face-down — with the centre of gravity positioned in front of the shaft. This forward weight distribution automatically squares the face through impact, like a hammer driving a nail.
What does 500% more forgiving mean?
In independent robotic testing by Blair Philip (TRU2SPORTS LLC), the Incred RFB putter retained 99%+ ball speed on half-inch off-centre strikes. Conventional putters typically lose 0.5+ mph on the same mishit. The RFB lost only 0.01–0.02 mph — making it 300–500% more forgiving in terms of ball speed consistency on mishits.
Who tested the Incred putter?
Blair Philip, a 30-year veteran putter designer who has worked at PING, YES! Golf, and Adams Golf. He co-founded BGT Stability Shafts and was the first US professional to use the Quintic Ball Roll Analysis system. He tested the Incred RFB against 11 best-selling putters including TaylorMade Spider Tour V, Scotty Cameron Phantom 5, Odyssey 7 AI, Ping Anser, and three LAB Golf models using a gravity-driven robot at 8 mph.
How is the Incred RFB different from LAB Golf putters?
LAB Golf uses Lie Angle Balance (zero-torque) technology, where the putter balances toe-up. The Incred RFB uses Reverse Face Balanced®, where the putter balances face-down. In Blair Philip’s robotic testing, the Incred Black Mallet rolled 77% better than LAB putters on centre strikes with 14% lower skid. LAB putters showed “an alarming amount of face twist and decrease in ball speed when mis-hit towards the heel.”
How much does a custom Incred putter cost?
Incred putters start at $799 (Custom), $999 (Premium), and $1,999 (Bespoke). Every putter is hand-milled to order in the USA. You choose the head shape, face material (steel or copper), alignment aid, length, loft, lie angle, and grip. No two putters are the same.
Is the Incred RFB putter patented?
Yes. The Reverse Face Balanced® technology was filed for patent in September 2023, published in mid-2024, with a grant expected within 2–4 months. Both Reverse Face Balanced® and Face Down Putter® are registered trademarks of Incred Golf Inc.
Is there an adjustment period with the RFB putter?
Most golfers adjust within 3–5 putts. The face-down balance creates a natural pendulum motion that many describe as “it swings itself.” Ball position moves roughly one inch further back than traditional putters (centre of stance), and the forward-leaning shaft automatically positions your hands correctly at setup.
Every Incred putter is hand-milled to your exact spec sheet in our Long Island, New York workshop. Build time is approximately 2 weeks from order confirmation.
