How Reverse Face Balanced® Technology Works
Every other putter balances face-up. This one doesn't.
There are three kinds of putters: face-balanced, toe-hang, and zero torque. They all share one thing — the center of gravity sits behind or along the shaft.
The Incred RFB putter positions the CG in front of the shaft. The face balances downward. It's a fourth category that has never existed before in golf.
The result: the face squares itself through impact. Like a hammer driving a nail — the weight does the work, not your hands.

Inverted, Backwards, Face Down: One Putter, Several Names
Golfers arrive at this putter under several names. Each one describes the same mechanism.
The engineering name is Reverse Face Balanced®, and it is a fourth axis of balance alongside face-balanced, toe hang and toe-up. The mass leads and the face follows, so the head resists twisting when the strike misses the center. What is a Reverse Face Balanced® putter?
A Reverse Face Balanced® (RFB) putter is the fourth balance category in golf, invented by Incred Golf. Unlike face-balanced (face-up), toe-hang (toe-down), or zero-torque (toe-up) putters, the RFB putter balances face-down — with the center of gravity positioned in front of the shaft. This forward weight distribution automatically squares the face through impact, like a hammer driving a nail.
What is an inverted or backwards putter?
Both names describe a putter with its center of gravity in front of the shaft axis. Golfers use them because the head looks reversed against a conventional putter. The engineering name is Reverse Face Balanced®, and resting the head on a flat surface points the face at the ground.
What does 500% more forgiving mean?
In independent robotic testing, the Incred RFB putter retained 99%+ ball speed on half-inch off-center strikes. Conventional putters typically lose 0.5+ mph on the same mishit. The RFB lost only 0.01–0.02 mph — making it 300–500% more forgiving in terms of ball speed consistency on mishits.
How was the Incred putter tested?
By an independent lab, using a gravity-driven robot at a controlled 8 mph with Quintic Ball Roll Analysis capture at 1,100 fps. The Incred RFB was tested against 8 best-selling putters including TaylorMade Spider Tour V, Scotty Cameron Phantom 5, Odyssey 7 AI, Ping Anser, and three LAB Golf models — 36 putts per putter, 540 putts in total.
How is the Incred RFB different from LAB Golf putters?
LAB Golf uses Lie Angle Balance (zero-torque) technology, where the putter balances toe-up. The Incred RFB uses Reverse Face Balanced®, where the putter balances face-down. In independent robotic testing, the Incred Black Mallet rolled 77% better than the LAB putters tested on centre strikes, with 14% lower skid.
How much does a custom Incred putter cost?
Incred putters start at $549 (Stock), then $799 (Custom), $999 (Premium), and $1,999 (Bespoke). Stock ships with a stock graphite or steel shaft, a custom Incred Golf grip and a stock headcover, and you choose the length and lie. From Custom up, every putter is hand-milled to order in the USA. You choose the head shape, face material (steel or copper), alignment aid, length, lie angle, and grip.
Is the Incred RFB putter patented?
Yes. The Reverse Face Balanced® technology is patented (filed September 2023). Both Reverse Face Balanced® and Face Down Putter® are registered trademarks of Incred Golf Inc.
Is there an adjustment period with the RFB putter?
Most golfers adjust within 3–5 putts. The face-down balance creates a natural pendulum motion that many describe as “it swings itself.” Ball position moves roughly one inch further back than traditional putters (center of stance), and the forward-leaning shaft automatically positions your hands correctly at setup.
